Not much excitement for Motorola’s new Google phone

Compared to the iconic prducts like Apple’s iPhone and Palm’s Pre, there was not much excitement for Motorola’s recently unveiled (10 September 2009) Google Phone (os Android).

--Motorola shares rose around 1.5 percent at $7.97, barely more than the rise in the overall market and off their earlier high of $8.15 before the phone was shown. In comparison, when Palm Pre phone was unveiled in January, its stock rose 35 percent.

Motorola's stock had risen over 10 percent over the past one month in anticipation of the new phone.
