European Carriers Want the trio to Contribute to Mobile Data Costs

Has the advent of smartphones for the masses resulted in a huge spike in mobile data consumption(using internet)? Something that has put a huge strain on carriers' networks.

If yes then who is to pay for the spike in mobile consumption?

This is the primary question, that is in front of the European carriers.

European carriers are blaming the likes of Google, Apple and Facebook for the added pressure. In fact, they're even demanding that the trio contribute to the cost of network updates to help them handle the extra weight, reorts Bloomberg. The notable advocators among major European carriers include Vodafone and France Telecom.

Do you think the trio should make payments to wireless carriers? Let us know in the comments below! --------
