Google launches Android 2.3 or GingerBread, First to get upgrade is Nexus S

Google has launched Android 2.3, or the "Gingerbread".

The first phone to get the update to Google's ?Android 2.3, will be the new Nexus S from Samsung, which Google partnered in designing.

What is New in Android 2.3:

The new interface changes in Gingerbread. There are not big changes, some new features/virtues worh a mention are:

1) NFC (near field communication) hardware that lets you read information from NFC tags. NFC is a fast, versatile short-range wireless technology that can be embedded in all kinds of everyday objects like movie posters, stickers and t-shirts.

2) Gingerbread is the fastest version of Android yet, and it delivers a number of improvements, such as user interface refinements, NFC support, a new keyboard and text selection tool, Internet (VoIP/SIP) calling, improved copy/paste functionality and gyroscope sensor support. --------
