Philips introduces 12.9 mm ultra ultra-slim Blade LED monitors

Those who have transitioned from older CRT PC monitors to the TFTs have seen a big change in the appearance of modern day monitors. Everything with a screen is just getting thinner and thinner.
But the journey of monitors towards super continues, with makers trying to beat one another on the monitor anorexia.

Latest to play its bet is none other than the Dutch manufacturer Philip.

Launched at the EDSA Shangrila on January 25, 2011, Philips has introduced in Philippines its newest line of ultra-slim monitors with LED technology.

Dubbed “Blade,” the new-generation ultra-slim LED monitors sport a svelte 12.9-mm chassis, making it one of the slimmest in the world. A 12.9 mm thickness or just 1.29 cm, amazingly thin indeed.

The monitors are designed to take less space while fully keeping with Aesthetics.

 It boasts a High-Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) input for full-HD viewing, LED technology for brilliant pictures, consistent brightness and fast startup time, and Philips’ intelligent SmartTouch key control that responds to even the lightest touch and coolly illuminates to acknowledge commands.

 Has SmartImage, letting users select various image profiles such as Office, Image, Entertainment and Economy via a user-friendly interface to fit the application in use. In simple SmartImage easily and dynamically optimizes the contrast, color saturation and sharpness of images and videos for enhanced display performance.

 Has SmartControl Premium, a next-generation icon-based graphical user interface (GUI) monitor control-software. In simple the software lets a user fine-tune a wide range of the monitor’s parameters, including ECO mode, laptop support with dual monitor plug-in, color, brightness, screen calibration, as well as manage headphone audio output right through his/her mouse. Ya no need to tweak buttons on the montitor.
